How it all started...
The Meeting House's vision emerged in 2017, born from a desire to establish a place set apart for people to encounter the presence and power of God. After discovering that borrowed worship spaces couldn't adequately serve their needs, the founders spent two years in prayer, seeking divine guidance for a dedicated location that would fulfill God's plans for the region. In May 2020, through a business connection, they met a ministry-minded individual who, moved by their vision, provided them with a space in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
A group of dedicated believers came together to transform the space, setting an atmosphere conducive to prayer and intercession. The founders sensed God's presence immediately upon entering the building, recognizing it as a sign of an impending spiritual movement in Northwest Alabama. What began as a planned 30-60 minute dedication prayer on their first night extended into a profound six-and-a-half-hour worship session, lasting from 10 PM until 4:30 AM. This supernatural extension of time confirmed their vision of creating a space where God's spirit could move without constraints or limitations.
Throughout the past five years, The Meeting House has hosted numerous prophetic voices who have spoken words of destiny over the ministry. These prophecies are now manifesting in tangible ways. The presence of God remains palpable within the tabernacle, with visiting worship leaders consistently noting that they don't need to "push through" to establish an atmosphere of worship – they simply step into the presence that has been cultivated through faithful stewardship. The focus remains on honoring God's presence, knowing that lives are being transformed and marked by divine encounters.
The House of Prayer extends an invitation to all who seek to experience God's movement in Muscle Shoals. Come and see – there's a place waiting for you!

Expanding the vision...
The House of Prayer began praying for additional space in 2022, exploring various buildings and gathering rental information. However, it quickly became apparent that relocation wasn't part of God's plan – there was something uniquely special about the current location. When the end unit of the complex became vacant in late 2023, steps were taken to acquire the space, founded on a prophetic word that had been received.
A powerful confirmation came during the lease signing process. When funds initially appeared insufficient, a divine provision manifested. Before a service could even begin that evening, an anonymous donor provided the exact amount needed, delivered through a messenger who simply stated it was God-directed. This provision confirmed heaven's spoken word and cleared the path forward.
The expansion project began with renovating the new space to include a fellowship area for breaking bread together. However, the vision extended far beyond the building's walls, focusing on reaching those in need, the hopeless, and the broken. The renovation plans encompassed multiple purposeful spaces: a kitchen for preparing meals for community outreach, a dedicated area for musicians to write, pray, and record, accommodations for visiting ministers, a fellowship hall, and a studio for podcast production, scheduled for completion in 2025.
This expansion represents more than just additional square footage – it embodies a calling to extend beyond the building's walls into areas needing hope, healing, and love. The kitchen, in particular, symbolizes this outward focus, designed to serve both the congregation and the broader community. This growth aligns with a divine mandate to GO, reflecting a commitment to active community engagement and service.

Where we are headed...
In August of 2017, Founding Pastor Brian Hunt received a divine dream of a barn filled with people, fire, and stirring winds. In this dream, he heard a clear calling to "Build Me a place that will allow Me to encounter My people. Build Me a barn." At the time, he was actively serving in ministry and was surprised by this vision. The dream reminded him of a prophetic word he had received at age 13 under the tabernacle in Ashland, VA, where Sister Ruth Ward Heflin had prayed over him. During that earlier encounter, Brian was baptized in the Holy Spirit and received a prophecy that God would move him to a small town in Northwest Alabama at age 36 for training, where he would participate in a great awakening.
Recognizing the barn vision as part of this prophecy, Brian and his mother relocated to the Shoals area and began gathering with other local congregations for prayer and worship.
In July 2020, while working as a real estate agent, Brian received what seemed like a routine call to list property but turned into a divine appointment. The property owner had a building in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, which he allowed them to renovate. They began holding services there on June 13, 2020. As their ministry grew, they gained access to more of the building, which provided space for their revival hall with the "barn feel" they envisioned. This current location serves as a training ground, with plans to eventually purchase land and build the Glory Barn. Interestingly, in 2017, another prophet had declared that the next move of God would occur in places like barns, stating "They will say we were born in barns."
Today, The Meeting House continues to grow as they witness an increasing intensity of God's presence. Their vision has become increasingly aligned with their heavenly calling: to build a barn, develop camp sites, and provide housing for visitors seeking to experience God's presence. Their ultimate goal is to host gatherings in a large barn filled with His presence, while sending teams into the streets to minister to those in need of hope. The Meeting House stands as a place of refuge from the storm, devoted to pursuing God's presence.
